Privacy for children

This is the short, child-friendly version of ChorePop's privacy policy. You can read it with a parent, guardian or another adult you trust.

The quick version

ChorePop helps your family remember jobs, routines, goals and pocket-money records. It does not hold real money, connect to a bank or give you a payment card.

ChorePop asks for a display name, not your legal name. Your family can use a nickname or a made-up name for your child profile.

What ChorePop remembers

Depending on how your family uses ChorePop, it can remember:

  • the display name your guardian chose for your profile;
  • your chores, routine steps, allowances, goals and streaks;
  • your Spend, Save and Give buckets; and
  • records of pocket money that your guardian says they hold for you.

ChorePop does not ask for your age or birthday.

Where the family information lives

During the 30-day trial, the family ledger stays on that one device. ChorePop keeps the adult guardian's sign-in and trial record online, but it does not normally upload child names, chores, balances or goals as trial family data. The deliberate safety-report exception is explained next.

There is one deliberate safety exception. If a child or guardian chooses Report unsafe content, ChorePop sends the words or item being reported, the reason and the reporter's note to its private safety team. This is not used to sync the trial family ledger.

After a guardian subscribes and moves the family to cloud sync, the family ledger can be stored in the family's protected ChorePop cloud account so their approved devices can stay up to date.

No adverts or behaviour tracking

ChorePop does not show adverts or watch how you use the app for advertising. The production app does not include the Facebook or Meta App Events SDK or Android's advertising-ID permission. It does not send Meta app activation, session, screen, purchase or custom events, advertising identifiers, or information about you or your family.

ChorePop would consider a future attribution-only design only if it can be proven not to collect information about how children or families use the app. The privacy pages and app store information would be updated before any such design was included in ChorePop.

If something in ChorePop feels unsafe or unkind

A child or guardian can open the three-line menu and choose Report unsafe content. This sends a private report to the ChorePop safety team at VEEFIVE LTD. Other family members cannot open or read the private report, and ChorePop does not tell the reported person which local profile asked for help.

This is different from Adult feedback, which is only for a parent, guardian or other adult to report an app problem or idea.
